The Made in Chelsea star posted an update on her health on Tuesday (January 31) in her Instagram story.
While she didn’t explain whether the hospital admission was related to her lupus diagnosis, Thompson urged her fans to « don’t take it for granted » and « tell everyone you love her now. »
The 32-year-old posted a photo from her hospital bed showing her left hand covered in tubes and tape and other tubes wrapped around her leg.
She wrote
« I’ve been quiet here lately as I’ve run into some unexpected situations again. I really don’t know what to say now, other than a big thank you to everyone who keeps the old code running.
« I feel like I’ve used up my quota for NHS services at this point
Whoops. I can’t help but feel a little bit guilty. »
Thompson shared that she was diagnosed with drug-induced lupus in December
Which left her with « very, very excruciating joint pain. »
She had previously battled mental health issues and PTSD following the tragic birth of her son Leo in November 2021.
She added in her latest update
« I think the only message today is don’t take it for granted. Oh, don’t sound too dramatic, tell everyone you love them now.
Lupus is a long-term condition that causes joint pain
Rashes, and fatigue. According to the NHS, there is currently no cure, but symptoms can be managed with early treatment.
Drug-induced lupus occurs when drug exposure leads to the development of systemic lupus erythematosus. It is most commonly caused by hydralazine, used to treat high blood pressure, procainamide, used to treat abnormal heart rhythms, and isoniazid, used to treat tuberculosis.
Thompson addressed her diagnosis in an emotional video posted to Instagram last year.
She told her fans
« I feel like I’ve been navigating so many different things and I can only cry, it all feels so heavy… I’ve always been capable, I’ve been positive, sports have always been such a big part of me ’ ” It’s been so hard living and adjusting to all these new medical conditions, so it’s been really tough.
Thompton and fiancé Ryan Libbey welcomed their son more than a year ago
But life-threatening complications prevented the delivery.
She spent lengthy hospital stays due to childbirth complications and told her followers she « danced with death ».
In a recent Instagram post
The actress said she « can’t think of anything worse than getting pregnant again…even worse, the thought of having a baby. »
« J’essaie toujours de gérer ce qui m’est arrivé (un processus lent et difficile) et j’essaie d’être la meilleure mère pour mon seul et unique petit garçon », a-t-elle déclaré, en réfléchissant au fait qu’on lui a demandé si elle en voulait plus enfant..
« Cela ne veut pas dire que ça n’arrivera jamais parce que beaucoup de gens me disent que les choses vont changer, mais je ne peux pas imaginer que ça n’arrivera jamais. »
